Checkout API
With Checkout API, the entire payment flow happens inside your store, with no redirect to an external page. It gives you more control over customization and integration, and a full setup to process payments with the main methods available.
Disable other transparent checkouts in your store
Before installing Checkout API from Mercado Pago, make sure to disable any other active transparent checkouts in your store. Tiendanube only allows one active transparent checkout at a time.
- In your store admin, go to Settings > Payment methods.
- In the payment methods list, disable any other transparent checkouts that are currently active.
Done! Your store is now ready to integrate Checkout API from Mercado Pago.
Integrate Checkout API
Follow the steps below to set up the application from your store’s admin panel.
- In your store admin, go to Settings > Payment methods.
- Find Mercado Pago in the payment methods list.
- In the payment methods list, click Edit settings next to the Mercado Pago plugin.
- At the bottom of the page, click More settings on the Mercado Pago site. This will redirect you to the Mercado Pago Panel Administrativo.
- In the checkouts Admin Panel, open the Checkout API section and enable the options you want:
- Credit card: select the brands you want to enable and the maximum number of installments allowed for installment purchases. To set up installments without interest, see Discounts.
- Debit card: select the brands you want to enable in your store.
- Other payment methods: select other methods you want to enable, such as OXXO, Paycash, and more. Also set the number of days until the ticket expires (including Saturday and Sunday), when applicable.
- Finally, click Save changes.
The Mercado Pago plugin for Tiendanube has no test environment. Validation must be done in production with real payments. Use minimum amounts and valid cards that are not linked to the store owner, as they may be rejected for security reasons.
With this, you will have successfully configured Checkout API in Tiendanube.
Configure installments
This configuration only applies to payments made with cards.
- In your store admin, go to Settings > Payment methods.
- Find Mercado Pago in the payment methods list.
- In the payment methods list, click Edit settings next to the Mercado Pago plugin.
- Scroll to the bottom of the page and click More settings on the Mercado Pago site to access the Mercado Pago environment.
- In the checkouts Admin Panel, find the Checkout API payment method and click Configure.
- Here you can set the maximum number of installments your customers can use with Checkout API.
Whenever interest-free installment settings are changed, you must sync the changes with your store by clicking the Sync button.
